LIFELINE - Charity concert for refugees

Music offers joy, comfort, excitement, hope and so much more. The LIFELINE concert combines a unique musical experience with a clear purpose - to support unaccompanied, underage refugees in Austria.

For this purpose internationally renowned artists Justin Sullivan & Dean White from the English band New Model Army have announced their participation on this special evening.

The musical journey will commence with the profound and intense compositions of the Syrian-Austrian duet Salah Ammo and Peter Gabis.
Alp Bora, who was born in Turkey, grew up in Bagdad and lives in Vienna now, is a fascinatingly versatile musician, who derives much of his inspirations from the musical tradions of Anatolia and will surprise us on that evening by playing in a new formation.
Followers and fans from all across the planet cherish the albums and live-acts of New Model Army for over 36 years now. The acoustic versions of their songs played by Justin Sullivan and Dean White on this evening unfold a very unique intensity.

The deep, driving, samba-like drums of the „Batala Boom“ group will carry the concert phase to its climax, after which DJane Larissa („Club Global“) will open the stage with music from all over the world. The invitation to express, dance and exchange will be open until 3.30pm.

The net profit from ticket sales will be dedicated to the UMF project of SOS childrens village, providing various kinds of help to unaccompanied, underage refugees.

It sounds like a great project and I wish you all the best of luck. Great cause.
I wish i could be there to buy a ticket, support your charity and see the gig but there is not way I can get to Vienna at that time. The other acts sound wonderful too.

If you know any other way to help refugees please let us know?
If your's or any other organizations that help refugees want volunteers to help them, please let us know too.

The very best of luck and I hope it's sells out and you raise a lot of money.
Props to you and Lifeline. You are doing a wonderful thing. :)

Excellent gig as usual and the encore was an improvised 'Gimme Shelter' together with the musicians of the support bands!

Good to hear it went well. I hope a lot of money was raised for the cause.
They need all the help they can get. There are 70,000 Syrians beginning the journey through Turkey. it's a massive exodus trigger by Russian bombs. It does not seem as if it will get any better any time soon.  :'(

And here here's the setlist:
Before I Get Old
One Bullet
Into the Wind
Turn Away
Dawn
La Push
No Greater Love
Die Trying (Justin solo)
Another Imperial Day (a capella version)
Higher Wall
Ocean Rising
Wipeout
Autumn
You Weren't There
Snelsmore Wood
Gimme Shelter (feat. all musicians incl. solos on oud, accordion, clarinet and percussion)

A truly memorable occasion! My highlights were Die Trying (what a great new song) and the encore. Shame that Tom Jones wasn't there, though:)
