My top 5 JC movies  ;):

Phenomena
Waking the dead
House of sand and fog
Once upon a time in America
Etoile

I can always remember one of his 80's decade films, "The Protector" (1985) which was one of the first JC's actor films that I have seen. I think it was a Hong Kong scenery in it.

Oh, i think there's a slight misunderstanding here what JC means: Jackie Chane vs. Jennifer Connelly  8)

....and it's not Jackie Chane but Jackie Chan! 8)
And The Protector is a bloody good one! I love his work, could have said his early work, but even today he has some good stuff going on. Damn this guy broke every fkn bone in his body not only once but several times for doing movies. He is a circus freak!

Bugger, it's my not so smart phone and its pre-emptive text feed...

I realized 80's films by mr. Chan could be described his mid career films. He started SO early.  :) Still can remember that mega flight he made in the harbour with a motorcycle in Protector.

Things people in their 50's remember that younger generations won't

1 --TV program called "Monkey"
2--telephone dial key lock
3 --Square plastic key to tie your bread bag up with
4--playing imaginary game scenario's outside with your mates
5--the TV repair man (or woman ((or none gender specific)) )

The longer this century goes on, the more I feel I belong in the last one.

Jane. I do remember that. At a guess without googling, around about 1985, beeb 2 on a Friday evening. They would not show such a thing these days, but as a teenaged lad, I quite liked it  ::)

Yeah, I had a thing for Glynis Barber from her Blakes 7 days so to see a show when she was somewhat underdressed throughout... can't imagine why such a thing would appeal to a teenage lad.   ;)

It was broadcast in 1982 and 1984.  Apparently it has never been reshown or been available on DVD because Barber was embarrassed by it, bought the rights from the BBC and destroyed the master tapes.   :o  Thankfully you can find episodes on YouTube...

1-- memory loss
2--arthritis
3-- weight gain
4-- regret
5-- can't remember No. 5

1 - Memory loss, agree on that one.. I think.   ;)

2 - The way I can't handle booze the way I used to, it just goes straight to my head to the point where I'm pissed as a fart after four pints and needing the loo every 20 minutes...

3 - The way I struggle with all standing gigs after 90 minutes, yet if I get a seated ticket my back and dodgy knee are playing up within the hour...

4 - Dealing with young people.  Just in general.   ;)  ;D

5 - Sadly, the number of people from my past, those about my age or younger, who are struggling with serious health problems or even dying.  The Grim Reaper is now bowling in our alley and he isn't going away...

As for arthritis, I'm glad I don't suffer from that yet but every time I get a bit of creakiness or pain in my limbs I do worry a bit... and regret?  I've actually given up on that one.  No point. It's all done and dusted for good or bad.  I was always the sort of person who felt bad about things they did, no matter how small. I never ruined anyone's life and I'll bet that the things I used to feel guilty about are barely remembered by the people in question.  I've just let it go... or perhaps I just don't remember the really bad things I did (see point 1)...    :-\

Anyway, hope you're well (or as well as can be expected), me old mate!

Top 5 spices, that's great!

I recently foound a new one for me. I was at a friends and he had a guest from syria and he made some coffe for us. When i tasted it it was fantastic, first i didn't know what added such a good aroma to the coffe, but then i guessed right and it was cardamom. So now i always put a little sprinkle of cardamom in my fresh breewed coffe and i enjoy that very much.

My list would be:

- smoked salt
- smoked paprika
- cumin
- caraway seeds
- self made salt mixture: salt, curry, cayenne pepper, coriander, sweet paprika, smoked paprika
ever tried. ever failed. no matter.
try again. fail again. fail better.
