Having a mini Style Council revival. OK, mostly nostalgia-based, but Mr Weller is a very good songsmith.
The longer this century goes on, the more I feel I belong in the last one.

I'm trying to get through most of The Cure's output before I see them next week... that's a lot of albums!  They do have a habit of playing some deep cuts amidst the big hits....  can't wait, they were the last one on my 'bands I must see before I die' list, never got around to seeing them before!   :D

Van Der Graaf Generator live in Hemel Hempstead December 1975, an intense gig even by their standards - they'd had to abandon an Italian tour a few weeks previously after most of their gear got stolen, and Peter Hammill had just split from his long term girlfriend, so they were venting all their frustrations through their music! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCunkeJhuuY

Incidentally, watching the performance of "Refugees" on the BBC's prog rock prom I was left thinking that Peter Hammill is turning into William Hartnell...

We are the heirs, we are the true heirs, to all the world"

That's fair enough, although, for what it's worth, I never really got The Cure, then or now. I accept it's artist-written music, very nice and fay, but there is so little passion, attitude or heart-felt aggression. Foot-tapping alternaive music at best, or a very lazy dance. In my opinion, that is  :-\

And that's absolutely fair enough!

I tried to PM you but it didn't work, me and Dan The Postman are over in Nottingham next month to see Sisters Of Mercy... Saturday 19th September.  Fancy a meet?  Might just be a brief one before the show but it'd be just rude of me to show up in your hometown and not to mention it?
