Camera incident (and don't forget the guy who wanted his cig packet signed) aside, a top night, and not going to let a bit of backchat ruin things, great to meet some new people and special mention to Erekose for good conversation and a lift back to our hotel, Jibberish and Nicky G. That was indeed the best 10 quid curry EVER. Great to see JS and DW back in action after the fire and all good wishes to them for a successful tour of Europe. Can't wait for the Robin 2 and just hoping there will be other warm ups before then.

I enjoyed the set despite the morons who paid a tenner to listen to the sound of their own voices. There were no surprises except BIGO but I will never get bored of the songs that were played. Justin and Dean play extremely well together often bringing new life to old favourites. Notice Me being a good example.

One of the problems with the venue is the bar being half inside the performance area. This will always lead to excess noise and people talking over the noise behind them. If a venue has no distractions other than the stage then people are more likely to be respectful. The reason I chose the Grosvenor in Stockwell for the Acoustic Insurgency gigs that we do monthly is because the venue is completely separate from the bar which makes a big difference.

Big thanks to Dave for the lift!

good night last night - was a bit sad to hear neither Tales of the Road nor Stoned, Fired... but you cant have everything.

SFFG was on the set list as an option, but they played Trees in Winter instead - I expect it'll turn up at some of the other acoustic gigs in the coming weeks.

Great night, shame about the chatter, though it didn't seem too bad near the front. Sorry to have missed out on curry, but I had to catch the last train. ;)

Curry came before gig - nobody had eaten so we buggered off as we were at the time about the only ones in the pub anyway!  Good place - some slight redemption for Gillingham there  ;D

We had the curry before the gig, which seemed totally backwards and a bit weird but was a damn good idea given that Gilling-grim appeared to be closed when we left the venue,

Yeah, around me (at the front in the corner, stage left) people seemed to be rather respectful too, but I could hear the constant chatter coming from further back - very annoying, one of the worst gigs I've been to in that respect.

Still, great concert music-wise, as always, and good to catch up with everyone before the gig.

Was great to hear Turn Away and Trees In Winter- got a nice spot up near the front and the time just flew past, we were back out in the snow before we knew it! Had a nightmare journey back to Midlands today though, not that it'll stop me doing it all over again..

That's brilliant, thanks for uploading! (You can hear the chat there, but I was pretty oblivious at the time, attention focused on the stage and all that...)

I was busy singing and sadly you can hear too much of those of us closest to Jibberish. Thing is, you can't just stand there and not sing, can you?

The music was great. The set list was great. The evening was well worth the A3/M25/A2 haul from the Surrey/Hants border and we'd do it again no problem.

The venue wasn't so good really. Because it's long and thin it was hard to get away from the strange people who persist with their endless far too loud chatter. This was not enjoyng the music chatter. This was **** you I want to be heard above the musicians chatter. Very strange. I came away feeling that some people seem to go to gigs to see their mates not listen to the performance. Don't they realise that performing musicians need audience contribution to bring out a special magic? There was a white haired lady in glasses near me who had her back to the musicians and talked continuously to her friends for the whole of the last 20 minutes. I am guessing she went home with her ego satisfied and pretty much oblivious to what most of the rest of us had travelled to experience.

Fortunately it far from ruined the evening. The performance, the music, the songs, the words were too powerful for that. However I feel strongly enough to bother to come on the forum and see whether it was just me who thought the chatterers were a bit over the top this time and I am relieved to see I am not alone.

Whilst writing I must say that Justin certainly brings me to places I wouldn't visit by any other choice. Gillingham is a sad rundown place. But hey the locals we met in the Canterbury Tales pub beforehand and at the pool table in the venue were very friendly, very nice. So many thanks to them, Justin and Dean for another memorable evening.
