What is your opinion about NMA's new song for their soon to be released new album?? ;)

Sounds pretty good, IMO!

I really like it!
Maybe i'm wrong but don't you think that it has a 80's vibe, Cure-Like?

It has an NMA 80s vibe in my opinion - and it went very well in Cologne :)

Just having a third listen - it's great...especially the bass - very old school NMA - good work Ceri! :)

I'm not gonna hit the link above until I've seen them play it next weekend. I think first impressions are best made in person. Though it has to be said that I am intrigued by the Cure comparison.

I like the keyboard part, also the guitar(s) near the end...lyrics seem good too.
A fine, cool new NMA song, hope that more of the new album stuff will be heard soon, can't wait!! 8) ;)

Wasn't sure on the night at the Melkweg, but I'd had far too many Murphys; what I have found since flying back to England is it's really hooked into my head, it sounded better in the Dam than on the Koln vid that's been posted on You Tube, so I shall look forward to hearing it again in Nottingham and keep me fingers and toes crossed that the boys see fit to play 1984, Spirit OTF and Vengeance again. Then all will be happy and content for Xmas!

Found Spud the mariner's vid on You Tube taken at the Melkweg and yes, is growing nicely. Can't wait to hear more of the new album tracks, be nice if the band chucked in another new on at Rock City.

I love it !!!

The "whoo hoo" bit makes me laugh sometimes but it's better than the "shananana nana" part in Autum ;-)

What I would like to know is, what the lyrics are about? I can catch most of it but not everything and besides that, it's always interesting to know what the song is about.

Here are the lyrics, as far as I understood them

March in September

There was always something holding you back
Some other world that was calling
Maybe on  the mountains where you stretched your arms
We had a fear of falling
They try to bring you their love and fear
But you will never receive it
They try to tell you you had everything that you need
But you would never believe it

So you try to make family
But nothing was given
So you gave them your own blood
But lots of it stolen
And you try to make family
But nothing was given
So you gave them your own blood
And all of it stolen

You took the water from the wishing well
You never saw that you should’t
You try to break all the bad in the world
You never saw that you couldn’t
You can count on everything that you have
He never stops the craving
Aim it all that's the ones that wanna be saved
??? That's then all of them saving ???

So you try to make family...

Awesome, powerful tune I think - has the potential for a real classic! This youtube clip from Koeln has a nicely balanced sound as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoM_i9_Dfy4

Love Marshall's riff on the chorus :D Sort of a crossroad of 80s NMA (on the vocals, guitar, bass), Sisters of Mercy (drums), Bad Religion (those oozin' background vocals). Considering these are all within my all-time top 5 bands, expectations are a tad elevated for the new album  8)

Maybe it is:

Ain't it always the ones that wanna be saved
That do all of the saving

???

I'm not 100% sure it is "So you try to make family" in all cases... but at the end I think it clearly is  :-\

It's not half as annoying ;)
