I loose count of how many parents say "What am I going to do with them for 6 weeks ?". I usually say "All the things you don't have time for during school time", with a slightly sarky smile, or "Cook, read, talk, walk, laugh, play that doesn't cost anything." Or.. " 6 weeks ? More like 20 years because that's how long he/she will hang around for!".

anyway, big L takes a call this morning from a friend who has found a kitten that is no more than 4 days old. she goes out there and finds two more. it so happens that we have a cat that has 3 kittens of her own that are now 3 weeks old and thriving. L took the current kittens away from the mother and gave them to our doting jack russell Dot who is taking care of them. and the mother cat is now nursing the 3 orphans.
