Our pregnant Dales pony mare has had a filly foal, my wife has decided she's going to be called Fairy Rose (it was her turn to name, I named the last filly!)

Aww, this is happy news indeed - and it's a lovely name (which one did you pick for the last one?)
Are there any pictues?  :)

The last filly I named Beeswing, she's now a very chunky three-year old.

Here's little Rosie and her mother

And Beeswing - very beautiful name, too!

All the best to all of you.  :)

Beeswing was a famed 19th century racehorse in the north-east of England, immortalised in tune by a noted Tyneside fiddler of the time, James Hill - here's an example of it being played off Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8nktZv4TN8 , though of course also a classic Richard Thompson song.

Lovely name for her...............also Wizz Jones and RT ref. are you a closet Folky ?   ;D..I have been a huge Folk Music fan from a very young age....i went to Cambridge Folk Festival as a 17 year old (much to the amusement of my mates) for some reason none of them wanted to come with me  :o...so i went on my own and attended many other Festivals after that,no longer able to attend Festivals any more (67 years old now) and falling to bits as mentioned in MR thread about attending gigs..Also loved pic. of your horses. 8)..

I'm an open folkie and a child of folkie parents ,  raised on the likes of Steeleye Span, Morris On, and the Albion Band - they used to play a C60 copy of Morris On in the car on long journeys or at least the first side which cut off before "Cuckoo's Nest". They used to only put the other side on when they thought me and my sister were asleep but it didn't work and they had a nasty shock one day when we started singing "Give me a girl that will wriggle and will twist, at the bottom of the belly lies the cuckoo's nest"

I'm happy about how many great new albums have been released this year from bands old and new.  I can remember years when I struggled to find anything new to listen to.

And this year has had some terrific albums, like the new ones by Manic Street Preachers, Sam Fender, The Slow Readers Club, The Wildhearts, Architects, Doves, Lacuna Coil, Envy Of None, The Lottery Winners, Rialto, Steven Wilson, Skunk Anansie, Sleep Token, Pulp... I can't remember the last year when I had so many albums that I got a real buzz out of.

And we're not even half way through the year (looking forward to new ones by The Chameleons, Suede and Half Man Half Biscuit)... good times!   :)

Spending time with my Dad.  We spent the whole day in Chester (a town where he was so happy in as a young man) taking him around the place and enjoying how he reacted to certain parts and remembered those times.

He's in the early stages of Alzheimer's, not too bad at the moment but I can see the symptoms of it descending on him every time I see him.

I remember other family members who had that awful disease and how dreadful it turned out.  I'm determined to spend as much time as I can with him whilst he still remembers who I am.

That's too bad my friend. The cruelest of all conditions. Carry on grabbing the shared happiness
