Great vid! I'm sure the back of my head's on it somewhere  ;)
The song does differ from the live version but it still sounds fantastic. Magic stuff! Will be watching it a few more times before I go up the wooden hill.

Before I go up the wooden hill. Don't know how I have never heard that expression before Barty. It made me laugh once I got it. ;D
We always burned brightest when no one was watching.

Yeah mine too, the wife confirmed it just now. Wow about sums it up as someone said earlier, poppier mix that I was expecting, but a good mix nevertheless. Very very different, but the video sums up the family to a tee. Signed book whatevered CD all ordered, just wait to see how long it is before someone is posting a link to say it's got out ahead of official release like happened with TIAGD - and what a debate that provoked. Hope the pre orders are going well for the band who have steadily built up the anticipation to this long awaited new release
I'm crying out to the gods who couldn't care less - come and get me if ya can!

Can't decide which version I prefer. The "oldschool" live version or the relaxed studio version. Both are great in their own way.

The film is now occupying much of my cognitive processes. Can't wait to see it.

The video is great the song.....well it's not their strongest. I like the last minute and a half that was effective, but it just kind of is, rather than smashes you over the head. But then again the last two albums were two of my favourites. Perhaps I'm a luddite, but a bit of guitar would have given it the drive to elevate it, imo, it's like the backing track waiting for the rest of the instruments.

Still it may be a grower, I look forward to the album.

I think it gives us a clue for what the sound of the album will be...JS said that the album would be a bit different from the previous ones, less rock and guitar driven, and the track here sums up this nicely...i found the cool sound of this track a bit "strange" on the first listen but it really growed on me, it's probably more subtle and restrained than some of the more heavy tracks on "Today is a good day" for example.

imo, it's like the backing track waiting for the rest of the instruments.

I like when there is only JS's voice, Michael Dean's drums and the keyboard line before the chorus, it works very well...the use of violin is quite subtle too.

As someone has already said its a poppy number and should surely get some radio airplay???

Indeed, the sound is cooler and would work well for radio airplay!

That video truly summed up the essence of NMA... loved it.

Dammit, HOW long is it until the November dates? I should hibernate or something...  ;)

The video is fine. If I can offer a small criticism, there seemed to be some strategic placement of pretty girls on the front rows of the crowd scenes. Not a problem, but just felt very slightly - Bon Jovy video.

I have no problem with that, Shush...  ;D

In fact, can I just say how it surprises me how many pretty young women come to NMA gigs when, lets face it, both the band and the audience are, lets put it diplomatically, 'past the first flush of youth'...

Cue the messages calling me a middle-aged pervert...

Not at all, noticing pretty young girls is the privilege of middle aged men who should have tried harder when they were younger.

But yes, maybe more close ups of gap toothed  tattooed pot bellies may have been as reflective.

(yes, I do fit that description)
