The video is fine. If I can offer a small criticism, there seemed to be some strategic placement of pretty girls on the front rows of the crowd scenes. Not a problem, but just felt very slightly - Bon Jovy video.

I also thought about it!  ;D

Isn't that fairly typical for the front rows? Most of the fat, ugly blokes1 are usually a bit further back...

Not at all, noticing pretty young girls is the privilege of middle aged men who should have tried harder when they were younger.

But yes, maybe more close ups of gap toothed  tattooed pot bellies may have been as reflective.

(yes, I do fit that description)

I want that written on my gravestone...  ;)

And, yes, the youngers get to the front of the stage because the rest of us are too busy buying pies and beer and discussing our various health ailments at the back...

I'm sure Gayle and Julie will be chuffed to bits being referred to as pretty young girls.

Cheers

Funny you should say that, Barty, I was over at my Mums house the other day. going through boxes of some old forgotten stuff and I found my CD single of GIMME SHELTER, which I hadn't listened to in many a year!

A great cover version of a great song...

Nice video and contrary to a certain fellows opinion about most of their videos this one certainly ain't crap. Seems like a very historical thing in some ways but feels like a brilliant snapshot of 33 years worth of quality.

As for the young ladies thing well maybe it's about time the world was shown that it's not just white tattoed shaven headed larger framed English males who love this band. No offence/criticism of anyone - just an observation  :-*

That's a fair point, and as you referred  in your other post about having a business head on, the latter of the above two doesn't sell as  well. Still, it  was nice to see Stoney in the video towards the end though.

I mentioned that thing about attractive young women in a previous post (in a light-hearted sense, honestly!) but I'll extend that to say 'young people' full-stop.  Whenever I see the lads, I'm usually and genuinely surprised by how many late-teens / early 20's people they are there.,, and they're well up for it!

Seriously, where are they getting the love of NMA from?  Not complaining, NMA has always been a band who welcomes all.  And it's brilliant to see them investigate a powerful, passionate band thats so much better than whatever crap the NME is pushing at them these days. Did they investigate their parents record collection?  Do their parents own the venues and got them in for free?

I mean no disrespect to younger folks, I'm genuinely curious about how that happens.

Absolutely mate. The more young fans the better. All good music is timeless and should be enjoyed by all for all time. There are many radio stations dedicated to playing the charts of 30 - 40 -50, etc years ago, but in the future when the radio stations playing 80s + plus chart music, that's hardly going to include NMA. The more younger fans get involved now the better. I was wearing an NMA T-shirt in a pub a few months back (yes master Ray, it was Formans), and chap came up to me, telling me how his dad got him into the band, he had seen them six times, and love them. He was 21, and we had a good chat about the songs he favoured and the band. I thought that was great. The more the better.
