Just watching The Magnificent Seven
Is is a crime to believe in something different?

I meant what I said at the time that I said it

Just watching The Magnificent Seven

Not watched that for years. I think there is only Robert Vaughan left alive... and Eli Wallach who played the Mexican bandit.

I just watched "searching for sugarman", a brilliant documentary about a forgotten musician. They story is almost too unbelievable to be real. That's all I can say without giving too much of the story away.

And I watched "beware of mr baker" again as I think it's one of the best rock bio's ever put on film.
I'm geared towards the averagae rather than the exceptional.

Shush, we've mentioned the genius that is Shane Meadows on several occasions... I really like OUATITM!  I must shove it in my eyes again one of these days...

Did you see MADE OF STONE, that Stone Roses docu?  I've never got the impression that you were a fan of the SR... it's odd, people who were SR fans didn't seem to like it much, yet a couple of people who were never into the band seemed to like it... opinion?

I've not seen it M/Ray. I probably should as I like both Meadows and the Roses.

MADE OF STONE is worth a look.  I had the good fortune to be at Heaton Park for the last night of those three... awesome, despite being cold, wet, muddy and hard to get a drink!

I just finished watching DONNIE BRASCO, a film I love and haven't watched in ages... brilliant, Depp and Pacino were terrific, a film well worth watching...

Just picked up a complete box set of 'The Comic Strip Presents...', utterly quintessential Channel 4 comedy from the 80's / 90's...

OK, I automatically went to the ones I remember most, ie the 'Bad News' and 'Five Go..' ones, but just watched 'The Bullshitters', which was great.

Any of you got any opinions on where I should go to next?

As for films, I checked out 'Sightseers' on Film4 the other night, which I really liked... from the director of 'The Kill List' my favourite horror movie of the past few years, Ben Wheatley (who is also directing the first two episodes of the next Doctor Who series... looking forward to that!)
My fave was "A fistfull of travellers cheques",still quote many of the lines,"everybody loves The Eagles"etc
don't whack the snakes...

Love to hear what others thought of The Comic Strip...

My fave lines...

'Sorry, I was watching Spider on the bike...'

'It's a EuroRover, old man...'

'It was the gay serum!'

I have never heard of Comic Strip Presents before. I just checked out Bad News on youtube. Looks good .Very Spinal Tap-ish. I wonder which came first?
