On a similar note, a while back I was pushing my little niece on the swings at a local play park and someone with their own kid said 'aw, your granddaughter's so cute...'

FFS, I'd have been OK with 'daughter'!  Only mid 40's which, yes, is 'technically' old enough to be a granddad, but the automatic assumption???  How clapped out do I actually look these days?  Actually, you folks who have met me, better not answer that...

I know what you mean.  I really like the band Muse, but have never gotten around to seeing them live...

... but a friend of mine pointed out, a while back, that I actually did, as a support act in the 90's... apparently, I thought they were excellent.
