I think I've mentioned before that I was a metalhead since the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, for the uninitiated) in the late 70's.  So I was hugely saddened by Ozzy's death because he's ALWAYS been there since I became a fan of rock music. And now he's gone.

Yes, I loved the Sabbath stuff but I liked his solo stuff even better, rarely a bad album.

It wasn't unexpected that he passed away and thank goodness he went out on a high, headlining a massive festival in front of a stadium full of adoring fans.  And at the second biggest money-raising charity concert since Live Aid!   :D

RIP, fine Sir.

... but at what point does it stop being CPR and start being like trying to reanimate a corpse?

HMHB paid tribute to Ozzy on Friday by having "Black Sabbath" as their walk-on music.

RIP Terence Stamp, one of THE faces in Swingin' London back in the 60's (the dude even shared a flat with Michael Caine!) and a fine actor who never quite became A List status in subsequent decades despite being in many fine films.  Probably best known for being General Zod in Superman 2 or a trans person in Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert but he was also in a great thriller called The Limey in 1999 and had a really villainous part in 2021's Last Night In Soho, probably my fave film of this decade.

Just heard that double bass legend Danny Thompson has died at the age of 86. As we should all recall, he played on "Navigating by the Stars".

RIP Claudia Cardinale, the most gorgeous actress in the world..a big loss for lovers of the golden age of italian cinema.  :'(

he was also in a great thriller called The Limey in 1999

Yes, he was very good in this fine, underrated Steven Soderbergh movie. I also liked him in an underrated thriller, LINK from director Richard Franklin.

This is one of my favourite Pentangle tracks, this version much more than the album recording: https://youtu.be/nwqP_yoszCE?list=RDnwqP_yoszCE
