Love The Cult, but saw them at Rockers a few years back and I wasn't impressed.  Could have been an off-night, I suppose... The Wonderstuff, on the other hand, blew me away on the one time I ever saw them (supporting The Levellers in Liverpool) and I don't even know their stuff all that well!  I really must investigate them further....

Next ones for me are Suggs' show in Crewe and Ash in Chester...

also, 3 days after holmfirth, The Chameleons are playing in leicester.

Dave and Phil Alvin this Friday the Islington Assembly Halls. Been waiting to see them since they were in the Blasters in the 1980s but it just never happened. Can't remember being this excited about a gig for a long time.

Just back from spear of destiny - massive thanks to Gary for the ticket. Believe it or not they played stewarton - just a couple of minutes walk away. I'm not a big sod fan only know a few of there songs. A enjoyable night all in all. Weird small venue with no stage - fck knows what possessed them to play stewarton

well hawkwind were a bit disappointing. the new stuff sounded good mostly but there was no need to play the whole album as some of it was quite weak. the old songs they played were probably 5 out of the top 6 i would have requested but they played them really quite badly. but the worst thing was their audience! such a lifeless unresponsive bunch of dull to mind-numbingly tedious old hippies who showed no excitement even when they played classics. in fact it was as if they didnt recognize the classics. and i was definitely the only person singing along. and next to no light/laser show (HW light shows are legendary but nothing.)

(Ricky) Warwick & (Damon (Johnson) in Weert (Netherlands) last Sunday. Sooo much fun. It always is, whether they are doing accoustic shows or are touring with the Black Star Riders.

Highly recommendable!  :)
